Letter: Idaho suspicions

May 1, 2014

After the recent changes in Washington and Colorado laws legalizing marijuana, there has been an alarming number of Idaho cops pulling over drivers from those states. Idaho police have been profiling, pulling over, harassing and searching people's cars just for having that states' license plate.

Idaho police have had a few drug bust in the past on the highway, and with the new laws in those states, they believe everyone is going to be transporting drugs across their state line. They will stop you for anything they can just to search your car. They will follow you, waiting for you to make any small traffic violation. They waste their time pulling over people with those state plates. Instead of stopping people for speeding, drunken driving and reckless driving, they are stopping people on the hopes of finding drugs. It is outrageous for them to be wasting everyone's time.
