Letter: Windermere sets example

April 30, 2014

At Elijah Family Homes, we are always thankful for businesses that step up to support the Tri-City community.

Recently, we witnessed Dave Retter and Windermere Real Estate Tri-Cities taking charitable giving a few steps further. They not only give with their money and time, they give with love, sincerity, and integrity. Even the mission statement on their Facebook page puts the business of real estate second to that of "helping build a great community and a great place to live."

After working with gusto to promote local charities in a regional competition to raise money for the Community Action Committee, Windermere Tri-Cities gave more than $4,000 each to five local charities working to serve our needy, even though they did not win the contest.

Elijah Family Homes, My Friend's Place, Tri-City Diaper Bank, Union Gospel Mission and the Community Action Committee are all much better able to serve our missions because of Dave and the generosity of the Windermere Realtors.

It's heartwarming to know we have businesses locally that truly care about more than sales. Thank you a million times, Windermere, for being a shining example of true success.
