Letter: Patriotic display

April 30, 2014

I would like to thank John and Danny and all the Archibald family for their generous gift to the Tri Cities -- the most glorious symbol of this country that our community has ever seen -- the 30-by-50-foot American flag raised above their Kennewick car dealership last week.

As a veteran, I was literally brought to tears, not only by the spectacle but also by the patriotism and faith demonstrated by this family and their continuing support of this great country. I get goose bumps and can't help but break into a huge smile every time I see it.

John, like you, I am distressed by the current direction of our great country. But make no mistake -- the sane, conservative patriots of faith and conscience will prevail. God bless you and your family.
