— A College Place woman and her 1-month-old baby escaped serious injury Wednesday morning when she lost control of her SUV and rolled it on Highway 395 north of Pasco near the Country Mercantile store.

Izabelle Ortega, 18, was driving south about 11:38 a.m. on the highway and was using cruise control on her Suzuki XL7 when she came up too fast on some slower moving traffic and lost control about 11:30 a.m., said the Washington State Patrol.

The SUV rolled but Ortega was wearing a seat belt and her baby was in a car seat, said the WSP.

The state patrol said inattention caused the wreck.
