Run for Ribbons set May 10 in Richland

T-shirt decorating party planned Friday in Kennewick

April 29, 2014

The Run for Ribbons and Ribbonfest Health Fair are planned May 10 at Howard Amon Park in Richland.

The event, aimed at raising awareness and promoting prevention of all types of cancer, includes a 10K-, 5K- and one-mile run/walk, plus education booths and other activities. Check-in starts at 8:30 a.m. and the run starts at 10 a.m.

Registered participants get a T-shirt with a blank ribbon, and it's a tradition to decorate it to honor a loved one, celebrate survival or encourage hope, a news release said.

A T-shirt decorating party is planned from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the Tri-Cities Cancer Center, 7350 W. Deschutes Ave., Kennewick.
