Southridge grad earns honor

April 28, 2014

Lewis-Clark State College’s Ty Jackson was chosen as the Red Lion Pitcher of the Week for his effort during the third-ranked Warriors’ 4-1 week.

Jackson, a sophomore from Southridge High, went six innings in his start at Northwest Nazarene in the first game of Saturday’s doubleheader that was won by the Warriors 9-0.

The 6-foot-3, 230-pound right-hander improved to 4-0 with the victory over the Crusaders, in which he allowed just two singles. He did not allow a run and struck out one batter, lowering his earned run average to 2.22.

The Warriors will finish up their regular season this weekend with a slate of five games on the road against NCAA Division II Western Oregon and reigning NCAA Division III champion Linfield.
