Tri-City temperatures to hit the 80s

April 8, 2014 - A flying insect visits an early blossom of balsamroot Monday in a field off Highway 395 just south of Kennewick. The bright yellow wildflower and the lavender-colored phlox are just becoming visible in shrub-steppe areas as the weather warms up.

— Highs in the Tri-City are expected to be well above normal this week with highs climbing into the 80s, possibly by Wednesday.

Sunshine is the forecast through the weekend, according to the National Weather Service.

Tuesday the high should be about 70, which is about 5 degrees above today’s forecast high.

Wednesday the high should be about 80 or a couple of degrees cooler. But Thursday and Friday the highs should be into the 80s, with a possible high of 84 degrees forecast for Friday.

Saturday should cool some, with a high back in the mid-60s.

Normal high temperatures for the end of April in the Tri-Cities are 70 degrees.
