Herald staffApril 27, 2014

Several state road projects could cause delays in Benton County this week.

Highway 224 will be one lane, flagger controlled, between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, starting in Benton City and running six miles east toward West Richland. The state Department of Transportation said to expect up to a 15-minute delay.

Several interchanges along Interstate 82 could also see delays. Work will begin Monday at Gibbon and Yakitat roads; Tuesday at Dallas, Locust Grove and Coffin roads; and Thursday at Badger Road.

Drivers can expect one-lane traffic with flaggers near each of the exits between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. on construction days. The projects are being done to improve bridge decks and pavement and perform chip sealing.
