Two student teams from Tri-Tech Skills Center in Kennewick will participate at a state automotive skills competition.

Students from 20 high schools are expected to compete at the event, a release said.

The state competition is May 6 at Renton Technical College.

Teams will race to properly identify and fix "bugs" in identical Ford Fiestas.

The teams, which have two students each, will be vying for scholarships and an opportunity to compete at the national finals in Dearborn, Mich., in June.
