A Circle of Caring community event to raise awareness about child abuse is planned from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Safe Harbor Support Center, 1111 N. Grant Place, Kennewick.

Several local agencies and groups, from the Support, Advocacy & Resource Center to Domestic Violence Services of Benton & Franklin Counties, will be on hand to provide information.

A bounce house is planned, along with treats such as cotton candy, and a short awareness march will be held.

A special dedication to the late Kathy Dodson, a social worker and member of the Benton-Franklin Counties Council for Children, also is scheduled.

The event is being presented by the council and the Benton-Franklin Community Network.
