Free vessel safety inspections planned in Richland

Tri-City HeraldApril 24, 2014

The Benton County Sheriff's Office will offer free vessel safety inspections for boaters Sunday at Columbia Point Marina in Richland.

Marine patrol deputies will inspect boats and personal watercrafts and answer any questions boaters may have.

All vessels that pass the inspection will get a decal that can be displayed to let officers know the vessel has been inspected.

Boaters will not be issued citations if their vessels don't meet safety requirements. The inspections are from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
