Alleged Richland shoplifter says he is armed

— A Kennewick man is accused of saying he had a gun after being confronted for alleged shoplifting just before noon Thursday at Kohl’s, according to Richland police.

Police are seeking Daniel D. Hafer, 30, on suspicion of second-degree robbery.

Hafer allegedly attempted to leave the Richland store without paying and was confronted by an employee, according to a police report.

Hafer left and the employee followed him until he told the employee he had a gun, according to the police report.
