Arbor Day event set for today in Richland

The cities of Richland and Kennewick will team up with the Mid-Columbia Community Forestry Council for an Arbor Day celebration at 1 p.m. today in Gala Park, 1500 Gala Way, Richland.

The event will include a celebration of the council's 20th anniversary, demonstrations on how to plant a tree, the planting of more than 20 new trees by area service groups, and the launch of a six-month project to engage the community with Richland riverside parks, art, trees and exercise.
