Letter: Swim coaches push for excellence

April 22, 2014

Another year of high school swimming has come to an end and I just have to give a huge thank you to Hanford/Richland coaches Kathy Piper and Randy Willis.

These two are the best coaches you could ask for. They are supportive of their athletes, while asking those same athletes to push themselves to the limits.

Kathy and Randy are often hoarse from September to March because of the cheering they do for all of the athletes. They are out there yelling for the state champion and yelling even more for the first-year swim athlete going for a personal best.

Our family has been blessed to have all three of our kids get to swim with Kathy and Randy. We will truly miss them next year and thank our lucky stars that we snuck in under the wire. They leave a strong legacy behind for the schools and the athletes. Thank you, Coach Kathy and Coach Randy.
