A jury of nine women and five men was seated Tuesday afternoon to hear evidence in the case of a motorist charged with causing a fatal crash.
Opening statements will be given today in Natalie Lincoln's trial before prosecutors call their first witnesses. The jury panel includes two alternates.
Lincoln, 33, is charged in Benton County Superior Court with vehicular homicide for the June 11 death of Steven S. Covert, 50, of West Richland.
Lincoln is accused of driving under the influence of prescription drugs when her car crossed the center line on Van Giesen Street and hit Covert's car, which spun around and then was hit by a car behind him.
The trial started Monday and is expected to last through next week.
