Voice of Hope event planned in Richland

Tri-City HeraldApril 22, 2014

The Voice of Hope dinner and auction event will begin at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at the Shilo Inn, 50 Comstock Ave. in Richland.

The nonprofit has worked for several years to end the practice of female genital mutilation in the Maasai culture, also known as female circumcision, which involves young girls' genitals being altered or removed for no medical reason in Kenya.

The event will include African music, dinner and wine, silent and live auctions and a short program. Proceeds will benefit the nonprofit organization, Voices of Hope.
