Asparagus tasting planned Wednesday, April 30 in Richland

Schreiber & Sons farm and Barnard Griffin winery are holding an asparagus tasting from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and April 30.

Alan Schreiber will discuss the various varieties -- he'll have about 20 at each tasting -- and how to prepare them. The winery will be sampling this spring's vintage of Rose of Sangiovese during the tasting.

Cost is $10.50 for members of the wine club or Schreiber & Sons "Inner Circle" produce buyers club. Cost for nonmembers is $12.50.

The event is at the winery, 878 Tulip Lane, Richland.
