Energy Northwest plant to see normal oversight

Energy Northwest's nuclear power plant near Richland will receive the normal level of oversight through December from the Nuclear Regulatory Commission based on the plant's performance in 2013.

NRC staff will hold a public meeting at 5:30 p.m. April 29 to discuss its assessment of safety performance for the Columbia Generating Station in 2013.

Staff also will answer questions from the public on the safety performance of the plant and NRC's role in ensuring safe plant operations.

The meeting will be in the Walkley Room of the Energy Northwest Training Center, 3000 George Washington Way.
