Fast Focus: 'Should children be encouraged to opt-out of standardized tests?' Standardized tests outdated

April 20, 2014

To say that our country's public education needs a plethora of improvements is logical. Our children deserve the best education from the public education system and part of that is that they expect tests that are fair, modern and unbiased. However, the century-old concept of standardized testing is, to say frankly, very obsolete and biased.

If public schools want to help their students succeed in life, then a final exam, rather than standardized tests, might allow more flexibility and fairness on each student.
