Othello softball hands West Valley first CWAC losses

The Othello Huskies handed the visiting West Valley Rams their first two CWAC softball losses of the year, hammering their way to 27 runs on 36 hits in a 18-3 and 9-2 doubleheader sweep on Saturday.

Lidize De Leon led Othello with six hits on the day, and Diamond Franco and Kirsten Quigley each chalked up five hits.

Royal 10-8, Columbia-Burbank 3-6: Seila Jenks picked up two wins on the mound and also had four hits to lift the Knights to an SCAC East doubleheader sweep of the Coyotes.

McDarra Von Stein scored six runs for Royal.

Jocelyn Lott led Burbank’s offense with a two-run home run in Game 2.

TC Prep 16-15, W-P 5-7: Mary Hoppes and Victoria Nunez each had seven hits to lift the Jaguars to a Southeast 2B doubleheader sweep of Waitsburg-Prescott.

Victoria Vargas was perfect through four innings and struck out nine batters in Game 1, and Valerie Nunez picked up the Game 2 victory.
