Kennewick School District plans social media safety meeting

The Kennewick School District invites parents to a free information session Tuesday on safe social media practices for teenagers.

The meeting will be at 7 p.m. in the Kamiakin High School auditorium. The school and the GEAR UP, or Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs, are organizing the event.

Topics will include talking to your child about Internet safety, protecting children from cyberbullying, what to do if your child is bullied, keeping information private and how to report online predators.

The featured guest speaker will be from the Support, Advocacy & Resource Center.
