Hazardous materials training course planned in Richland

The Eastern Washington Chapter Academy of Certified Hazardous Managers will hold a three-day training course to build or refresh expertise in regulations and information related to the life cycle of hazardous materials.

The course is from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. May 6-8 at the WSU Tri-Cities Information Center, 2710 Crimson Way in Richland.

The course is designed to introduce regulations and other information to personnel responsible for hazardous materials and to help prepare personnel to take the certification exams.

Participants will receive an overview of disciplines related to handling hazardous materials and wastes.

The event will feature about 20 experts and regulators to discuss radioactive emissions, biological risks, analytical techniques, regulatory compliance, certifications and applications, and more.

Cost is $650 and includes a reference text.
