Leadership Tri-Cities Class XIX raised more than $30,000 for Ken and Teresa's Place, a day shelter in Kennewick, during an event in March.

The day shelter is operated by the nonprofit Therapeutic Innovations & Recovery.

Turnout at the event -- a dinner and auction -- was "greater than we had anticipated and a wonderful show of support from the community," said Steve Gaulke, Therapeutic Innovations executive director, in a news release.

The leadership class is helping to make capital improvements at the shelter, which is at 2625 Bruneau Place.
