One of Washington State University Tri-Cities' newest administrators has been named to a new position at the Richland campus.

Michael Mays, an interim vice chancellor since January, will be the university's vice chancellor for academic affairs, a news release said.

Mays was hired in August 2012 as an assistant vice chancellor for the College of Arts & Sciences on the Richland campus. Chancellor H. Keith Moo-Young said Mays has been instrumental in advancing student and community engagement and research at the university.
