Police: Pasco man sets ex-girlfriend's house on fire

— A Pasco man is suspected of deliberately setting his ex-girlfriend’s house on fire.

Officers were called on Tuesday afternoon to a report of a burglary at the house in the 800 block of Octave Street, police said.

Reuben James Trenidad, 19, allegedly broke into the house where his ex-girlfriend lives and broke some items, police said. Trenidad left the house before officers arrived.

At 10:45 p.m., officers were called back to the house for a fire that appeared the be deliberately set, police said. Pasco firefighters were able to put the blaze out.

Officers found items belonging to Trenidad nearby where the fire started, police said. Trenidad was arrested a short time later in the 800 block of W. Henry St.

Trenidad was booked into the Franklin County jail. A no-contact order was in place between Trenidad and his ex.
