West Richland plans clean-up Saturday

Residents of West Richland are invited to the annual West Richland Clean-Up Day from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Enterprise Middle School, 5200 Paradise Way.

Free disposal of household garbage and yard debris will be available. No commercial garbage will be accepted. A chipper will be on site to grind up tree branches and limbs.

The city cannot dispose of refrigerators, air conditioner units, propane tanks or hazardous materials.

Failure to properly secure your garbage with rope or tarp while hauling it to the event could result in a $124 fine. For more information or to volunteer, contact West Richland Community Development at 967-5902.

Also, Benton County Mosquito Control, 4951 W. Van Giesen St., will be collecting passenger truck or car tires.

The rims must be removed and commercial tires will not be accepted. To learn more, call 967-2414.

City of Richland's shops on the corner of Queensgate and Duportail will be available to collect household hazardous waste from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Call 736-3084 for more information.
