Benton County man OKs plea deal in sex case

By the Herald staffApril 15, 2014

A Benton County man will have to register as a sex offender for at least 10 years after he pleaded guilty Monday to communicating with a minor for immoral purposes.

Dale John Jefferson, 38, also will have to serve five months in the jail's work release program for the sex offense.

Prosecutors said they reached the plea deal with Jefferson so the victim would not have to testify.

Jefferson will be on supervision for two years once his work release is finished.
