WSU Tri-Cities plans 5K run on Saturday

Washington State University Tri-Cities student leaders will have a 5K run and kids dash Saturday to help students cover textbook expenses.

Registration fees from the fourth annual Fund the Future 5K will go toward textbook stipends for students.

General registration is $17 in advance and $20 on Saturday.

WSU Tri-Cities alumni can register for $15 in advance and $18 on race day. WSU Tri-Cities staff and current students and kids ages 6-12 can register at any time for $10. Kids 5 and under are free.

Registration opens at 8:30 a.m. on the Columbia Center Rotary Stage behind the East and West buildings.

The 5K race begins at 9:30 a.m., with the kids 50-yard dash starting immediately before. There is a post-race spaghetti feed at 11 a.m.
