Letter: Sweet girl

April 14, 2014

Our family got together at the Texas Roadhouse to celebrate our 47th anniversary. We were met at the door by a fine young Girl Scout. She held the door open and welcomed us and mentioned by the way that she had some Girl Scout cookies that would go well after dinner.

I wish I had gotten her name as I'm mighty sure there will be many awards and accolades in her future. She reminded me of two things: 1) there are some great youth in the Tri-Cities, and 2) all of us that can, should support worthwhile causes sponsored by these children.

MIKE MEHREN, Hermiston

P.S. If you're desperate for a Girl Scout cookie, we have a few extra.
