Kennewick firefighters extinguish a smoldering pile of dead grass and move a small pile logs away from the home at 1920 S. Quincy St. Thursday after the resident lost control of a control burn. No injuries were reported

— The Kennewick Fire Department responds Thursday afternoon to a small grass fire near a home at 1920 S. Quincy St.

The fire damaged privacy slats in a chain link fence, ornamental shrubbery and irrigation pumps at a neighboring property.
