PFLAG events this weekend to promote prevention of bullying, suicide

Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays plan to hold two public events in the Tri-Cities to promote the prevention of bullying and suicide.

PFLAG has organized an educational panel discussion on bullying and suicide prevention at 6:30 p.m. Friday at the Richland Community Center, 500 Amon Park Drive.

The event will feature numerous panelist speakers, including a PFLAG representative and a Benton Franklin social worker. To learn more, email

PFLAG also will hold its sixth annual The Climb fundraiser to raise awareness around the issues of bullying, suicide prevention and self-harm at 5 p.m. Saturday at the Badger Mountain Trailhead in Richland. The event will include a brief program beginning at 5:30 p.m. and a group hike up Badger Mountain.

Registration is $15, including a T-shirt while supplies last.
