Charter tells customers better quality coming

By the Herald staffApril 7, 2014

Charter Communications recently announced that customers in the Tri-Cities, Walla Walla, Milton-Freewater and Hermiston should notice better picture quality and faster internet speeds as the company finishes moving to an all-digital network during the first half of the year.

Customers also will be able to access more than 200 high-definition channels, according to a news release. Customers will need to get Charter-issued digital set-top boxes for each of their TVs as part of the recent upgrades. Those boxes will allow users to get Video On Demand access.

To get the boxes, call 888-438-2427 to request a self-installation kit, or pick up equipment at a nearby Charter store. The Kennewick Charter store, at 639 North Kellogg St., is open weekdays from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. except for Wednesdays, when it closes at 6 p.m. Saturday hours are from 8:30 to 4:30 p.m.
