Kennewick meeting on Blue Mountains forest use today

— Long-term plans for the Blue Mountains National Forest will be discussed Friday, April 4, at the Benton PUD Auditorium, 2721 W. 10th Ave., Kennewick.

Forest officials will be available starting at 5:30 p.m. and a formal presentation is planned for 6 p.m.

A draft land management plan has been prepared for the Umatilla, Wallowa-Whitman and Malheur national forests.

It covers proposals for access, restoration, livestock grazing, old forest and recommended wilderness for the next 15 years.
