BOYS SOCCER: Sunnyside blanks Pasco 3-0

The Sunnyside boys soccer team improved to 6-0 on Tuesday in front of their home fans, getting a pair of first-half goals from Christian Chavez and Noe Meza in a 3-0 nonleague win over visiting Pasco.

The Grizzlies, led by second-year coach David Guevara, went 4-6 in CBBN play in 2013 but have shown some competitiveness, plus the ability to put the ball in the net, early in 2014.

Lupe Granados added an insurance goal in the 74th minute for Sunnyside, who outshot the Bulldogs 13-6.

Grizzlies goalkeeper Manuel Calvillo made five saves for the shutout.
