Make the Park Shine event planned Saturday near Pasco

The Friends of Sacajawea State Park second annual "Make the Park Shine" day will begin at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the park, located 5 miles southeast of Pasco at the confluence of the Snake and Columbia rivers.

All are welcome to volunteer to get the park ready for the new year.

Volunteers are asked to bring their own gardening tools, specifically rakes and gloves, if possible.

Volunteers will need to purchase a Discover Pass parking permit for each vehicle.

Cost is $10 for one day, or $30 for an annual pass.

There will be coffee, hot chocolate and water available, and work will stop at 12:30 p.m. for a potluck lunch.
