Gesa Credit Union employees and members recently donated about $13,800 to Junior Achievement of the Greater Tri-Cities.

The donation came from bake sales, sales of promotional items and raffled gift baskets. Gesa employees also donated so they could wear jeans to work on Fridays.

Gesa members bought items sold at the branch, including paper schoolhouses. The donated money was presented at Junior Achievement's Annual Bowling event, where 14 teams represented Gesa.

Junior Achievement recruits community leaders to provide financial education to more than 10,800 students in the Tri-Cities and Walla Walla area.

Last year, 24 Gesa employees were Junior Achievement classroom volunteers.
