'Go Wild for Reading' event starts today at Mid-Columbia, Richland libraries

Regional Service Corps-AmeriCorps will hold its ninth annual "Go Wild For Reading" event from 12:30 to 4:15 p.m. today, Wednesday and Thursday at the Pasco, Kennewick Union Street, West Richland, Keewaydin and Benton City branches of the Mid-Columbia Libraries, as well as the Richland Public Library.

This year, the event will celebrate Earth Month and safety with its selection of books, activities, crafts, guest speakers and games.

At the event, entries will be accepted for the Regional Service Corps "I Love to Read" poster competition. Participants must be in grades K-5. The poster must incorporate the "I Love to Read" theme and must be between 8.5-by-11 inches and 18-by-22 inches. For more detailed contest guidelines, go to www.rsca.us.

The first 700 children who participate in the event will recieve a coupon worth $20, which is good for three games, shoe rental and $5 in arcade games at Go Bowl Lanes in Pasco.
