Police search for car theft suspects in Kennewick

Kennewick police officers conclude their search early Monday morning for two car theft suspects in the 2300 block of West 15th Avenue in Kennewick.

An unattended running vehicle was stolen from a driveway in the 2000 block of South Kellogg Place around 5 a.m. Monday in Kennewick.

A patrol car spotted the vehicle near the intersection of West 19th Avenue and Highway 395.

Officers began following the car and were preparing to stop it when it pulled into a driveway in the 2300 block of West 15th Avenue, according to Kennewick officer Chris Walter.

Two unidentified suspects in the car ran from police.

Deputies from the Benton County Sheriff's Office and officers from the Kennewick Police Department sealed off the neighborhood and an area near Zintel Canyon for about two hours. A police dog was also used in the search but was unable to locate the suspects.

The owner was called to get the car back said Walter.
