The 17th annual Junior Achievement bowling fundraiser, the Galaxy Bowl, raised $287,000.

In total, 330 teams with nearly 1,600 bowlers participated. Of those teams, 55 were new to the event.

The nonprofit Junior Achievement works to educate students about workforce readiness, entrepreneurship and financial literacy through hands-on programs.

Proceeds from the bowling fundraiser are used to serve more than 10,000 students in Benton, Franklin and Walla Walla counties.
