Failure to yield caused a two-car crash just before 6 p.m. Thursday, about 15 miles north of Pasco, the Washington State Patrol reported.

Jose L. Mayoral, 31, of Pasco, was driving a 1999 Chevrolet C150 pickup with trailer east on Eltopia Road West and attempted to cross Highway 395, the state patrol said.

He failed to yield and struck a 2001 Honda Civic driven by Anthony D. Lewis, 32, of Richland, who was headed south on Highway 395.

Lewis was flown to Kadlec Regional Medical Center in Richland, where he was treated and released. He was not wearing a seat belt, the state patrol said. Mayoral was not injured.
