Baseball: CBC splits with Spokane in NWAACC East action

Spokane 7-3, Columbia Basin 4-13: Dalton Johnson hit a grand slam and Kenton Brunson a three-run home run Wednesday as the Hawks busted out the bats to grab the nightcap and split an NWAACC East road doubleheader.

Hayden Meier followed up Brunson’s blast with a solo homer, and Braden Wolgamott added a two-run shot.

Walla Walla 7-12, Wenatchee Valley 2-6: Kamiakin graduate Jesse Houser threw seven strong innings, allowing two runs — neither earned — with two walks and seven strikeouts to lead the Warriors to an NWAACC East doubleheader sweep in Walla Walla.

In the nightcap, JJ Robinson hit a pair of home runs, driving in seven runs to lead Walla Walla.
