Fever washed out in Cedar Rapids 58-45

March 22, 2014

The Tri-Cities Fever dug itself another hole on the road Saturday that it could not get out of, losing to the Cedar Rapids Titans 58-45 in an Indoor Football League game.

The Fever, now 1-3, fumbled away the football four times and lost another possession on an interception.

On the game’s very first play, Fever quarterback Dante Warren carried the ball for a yard when Titans defensive lineman Jeremiah Price forced the ball loose. Cedar Rapids defensive back Travonti Johnson picked up the fumble and returned 25 yards for a score and quick 7-0 lead.

Warren bounced back on the next series with a 7-yard TD pass to Ed Berry for a 7-7 tie, but the Titans took the lead for good on their next series when kicker Rockn Belmonte kicked a 30-yard field goal for a 10-7 lead.

It was a rough night for Warren, as the Titans also turned his tossed interception and two more of his fumbles into 21 points.

Warren still passed for four TDs and rushed for another score. He passed for 179 yards and rushed for another 47.

Dejuan Miller caught six passes for 92 yards and two touchdowns for Tri-Cities.

Titans quarterback Spencer Ohm passed for 147 yards and four TDs.

The Fever has a bye next week before playing host to these same Titans on April 5.
