Pooch and Pal run/walk in Richland to support POPP

Tri-City HeraldMarch 20, 2014

The annual Pooch and Pal run/walk starts at 9 a.m. Saturday at Columbia Point Marina in Richland.

Entry fees are $25 with a T-shirt or $20 without. There is no cost for the dogs. There will be one-mile, 5K and 10K runs/walks.

Last year, more than than 500 dog lovers and their pooches took part in the event, raising $12,000 for the Pet Over Population Prevention organization.

POPP is a nonprofit, all volunteer, no-kill agency dedicated to promoting responsible pet ownership by providing free or low cost spay/neuter assistance for abandoned, feral and abused dogs and cats.

The agency relies on donations from the public to house, feed and provide veterinary care for pets who are waiting for a permanent home.

To register, email Kim Hobbick at khobbick@charter.net or call 947-4982.
