Mid-Columbia high school students interested in learning more about their options for higher education are encouraged to attend College Planning Day at Washington State University Tri-Cities on Friday.

Sixteen community colleges and universities will be at the event, a release said. There will be presentations on financial aid and information on the College Bound Scholarship program.

Admission is free and pre-registration isn't required. The event is specifically targeted for students in the Tri-Cities, Finley, Prescott and Wahluke, and those from Adams, Grant and Yakima counties.

Doors open at 9 a.m. and the presentations will wrap up by noon. The event is organized by the Washington Council for High School-College Relations and locally coordinated by the WSU Tri-Cities' Office of Enrollment Management.
