By the Herald staffMarch 17, 2014

Free screenings of the award-winning documentary Miss Representation are planned at 9 a.m., 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. Thursday in the Gjerde Center at Columbia Basin College in Pasco.

The William O. Douglas chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists and CBC's Diversity Committee are partnering to offer the screenings.

The documentary explores how the portrayal of girls and women in the media contributes to women being under-represented in positions of power and influence.
