Open house planned at Eastgate before razing

By the Herald staffMarch 17, 2014

Eastgate Elementary School in Kennewick will have an open house March 27 for alumni and other community members to see the building before it is torn down this summer and a new school is built.

The open house is from 4 to 6 p.m. and will involve a visit from children's author and Eastgate alum Stephen Cosgrove. Cosgrove will launch his newest book, Pickles, which looks at bullying.

Some construction will begin this spring at the school, and students will be moved to the Fruitland Building for the 2014-15 school year.
