Shoe drive to benefit Royal Family Kids

The public is invited to participate in a shoe collection drive to benefit Royal Family Kids from Thursday to May 1.

Royal Family Kids is a network of camps and mentor clubs for children of abuse, abandonment and neglect.

Donations can be made at Battelle, Calvary Chapel Church in the Education Building, Columbia Basin College and Ranch & Home.

All donated shoes will be redistributed and used in developing nations for impoverished people to start, maintain and grow an enterprise to feed, clothe and house their families, according to a press release.

The organization Funds2Orgs will pay Royal Family Kids receives 25 cents per pound of shoes.

While gently worn shoes are preferred, shoes will be accepted in all conditions.
