— A 30-year-old man could face felony theft charges after he was arrested for allegedly stealing DVDs from a Mid-Columbia Library branch and $1,500 in other library materials were later discovered at his home.

Kennewick police were called to the Keewaydin Park branch library on Friday when someone reported there was a theft in progress, a release said. Jason M. Durston was arrested after a short investigation and booked into the Benton County jail under suspicion of third-degree theft for attempting to steal 11 DVDs.

Police learned Durston was also a suspect in two incidents from mid-February where he allegedly used a stolen library card at the Keewaydin Park branch and another branch library to check out a total of 100 items. None of those materials were ever returned.

Authorities obtained a search warrant for Durston's home and searched it Saturday. That turned up 75 DVDs and two books belonging to the library system.
