Letter: Winter driving hazardous for Richland students

March 14, 2014

I am a senior at Richland High School, and it has come to my attention that schools all around us get delayed starts or classes get canceled because of bad weather and icy roads.

However, Richland High rarely gets late starts or cancellations. This winter alone, I have listened to fellow classmates talk about how it is frightening to drive to school when roads have patches of ice. I've listened to them talk about almost getting hit or actually getting hit. It puzzles me how other schools get delays, yet our school just deals with it.
