Former Pasco teacher charged with molestation

Tri-City HeraldMarch 11, 2014

— A former teacher at Kingspoint Christian School in Pasco has been charged with molesting a teenage girl.

Brian Scott Dean, 30, pleaded innocent to a second-degree molestation charge, court documents said. The charge carries an aggravating circumstance that Dean was in a position of trust during the alleged incident.

School officials told the Herald that Dean’s charges have “nothing to do” with the school. Dean recently resigned form Kingspoint, which enrolls about 150 students in grades K-8.

School officials declined to say what grade level and classes Dean taught, or how long he had been with the school.

Dean posted bail and is currently out of custody.

His lawyer, Christian Phelps, could not be reached for comment.

Prosecutors say Dean touched the girl inappropriately in January.

The girl told her parents the next day that Dean had touched her, court documents said. Dean was arrested shortly after.

The case was investigated by the Benton County Sheriff's Office.
